Policies
Sparkhill Harriers Constitution
Safeguarding
Encompasses policies and procedures to set out minimum standards of expectations, such as codes of conduct, procedures to follow for dealing with child protection concerns, other welfare issues or complaints, and to ensure that Sparkhill Harriers meets its statutory responsibilities to safeguard and protect children, young persons and any vulnerable adults. Welfare is essential to ensure the safety and enjoyment of athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure the welfare of all those who participate in athletics.
Sparkhill Harriers will operate within the welfare policies and procedures established by England Athletics working in partnership with UKA.
Anti-bullying
Sparkhill Harriers is committed to providing a caring, friendly, and safe environment for all of our members so they can participate in an inclusive sport where everyone belongs and can flourish.
If bullying does occur, everyone should be able to speak up and know that incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively. This means that anyone who knows that bullying is happening is expected to tell the club welfare officer, committee member, competition provider or England Athletics.
Social Media
This policy has been developed to inform our club members about using social media so people feel enabled to participate, while being mindful of their responsibilities and obligations. In particular, this policy provides practical guidance allowing all parties to benefit from the use of social media, while minimising potential risks and protecting those involved.
