Well, sort of...
Sunday 18 September saw the annual Bournville Leafy 10 K road race around the pleasant lanes and pathways of the Bournville estate. As usual our local rivals put on a superb event: an undulating two-lap route starting and finishing in Rowheath Park. A field of 239 runners completed the course, among them:
Andy Wadsworth who came 39th in a time of 46:01
Rob Mills who came 63rd in a time of 49:34
Andy bagged the 1st MV60 prize, while I managed to come in as the 1st MV65.
The race was run in lovely autumnal sunshine and as ever there was a wide selection of delicious homemade cakes available for post-race recovery. This is a really well-organised race with lots of friendly marshals and good support around the course, and a well-filled goodie bag too. Recommended.
Thanks to our neighbours at Bournville for putting on such a great event.
Rob Mills
