Gill Millicheap - A much missed club member

We were all shocked and sadened to hear of Gill Millicheap's passing in May 2026. Gill was a much loved member of Sparkhill Harriers and a fantastic athlete.

Gill joined Sparkhill Harriers in July 2000. She supported the club as membership

secretary and welfare officer at various times and was a keen track and field athlete,

turning her hand to throws, long jump and high jump, and even race walking (which she

said she detested!) alongside sprinting at which she excelled, into her seventies and

until her final short illness.

Gill was a true club person who epitomized our club’s ethos – ‘a club is what its members make it’ – and she will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.
