Donation to Alzheimer's Research UK in memory of Eric Hubbleday

Following the sad passing of Eric Hubbleday in November 2023, the Sparkhill Harriers have donated £100 in his memory to Alzheimer's Research UK.

From the 1956 Mercury

Eric joined the club 07/12/1951 after he finished his national service and soom played a prominent part in club life. He was originally a keen cyclist but became a good cross-country runner. He joined the committee and worked hard to raise funds by organising social events such as dances. He became assistant secretary in 1956 and worked tirelessly on the management committee that saw through the building of the new club house in Shirley in the 1960s.

He also served as a coach and became a life member at the AGM in 1993.
